What’s so special about this photo? It’s lit with two lights off camera, wirelessly, a key light with an umbrella to the right and a I guess a "fill" light behind the sculpture providing a neat glow. The flashes (strobes) were triggered wirelessly with a set of pocket wizards and the flash behind was fired optically with just light (optical slave).
This was my first time using PW and they’re pretty neat. I’m just not used to having to set everything manually. Gotta love wireless TTL metering!
The first step to a great macro picture is having the right lens. In this case, a Sony 100mm F/2.8 macro. It definitely helps to have the right tool for the job!
One of the most common birds around the neighborhood. I usually don’t do too many bird pictures, unlike ah_pics since my longest lens is 200mm, but this one didn’t seem to mind me getting really close and taking a few shots.
I’ve been so busy lately so I haven’t had much time to spend at my computer, which I guess is good in many ways…. So here it is, a quick macromonday (James Bond theme) for today. It’s probably something Macgyver would probably use. Bond would have some uber fancy high tech knife that would look like a sandwhich or and shoot missles or something, but it’s the end of the day, and I can’t think of anything else.
